Prong 01 — Train

AI Workforce Training

Structured, cohort-based AI training for employers — built to fit the documentation and delivery rules of state training grants, so a substantial share of your training cost may be reimbursable.

Illinois may cover up to half the cost

The Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP), administered by the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity and delivered through intermediaries including the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, reimburses employers for a share of approved training costs. Pre-approval must be in place before the first session runs — training already delivered generally cannot be claimed.

The mistake that costs employers the money

If AI training is anywhere on your plan for this year, start the conversation before you put dates in the calendar. Funding is limited and first-come, first-served.

Core curriculum

Every track runs as dated, timed sessions with a named instructor, practical exercises on your own material, and a completion certificate for each attendee.

AI Foundations for Every Employee

8 hours · 2 sessions

Practical grounding in what current AI tools do and do not do, where they fail, and how to verify output. Hands-on exercises using your own document types.

Applied Generative AI for Knowledge Workers

16 hours · 4 sessions

Prompt construction, drafting and summarizing, working with long documents, and building repeatable prompt patterns for recurring tasks.

AI for Operations & Back Office

16 hours · 4 sessions

Document intake, data extraction, exception handling, and quality control. Redesign a real workflow in class and measure the before and after.

AI for Analysts & Data Teams

24 hours · 6 sessions

Retrieval over internal data, evaluation methods, measuring accuracy, and knowing when a model is the wrong tool for the problem.

AI Governance, Risk & Responsible Use

8 hours · 2 sessions

Acceptable-use policy, human review checkpoints, audit trails, vendor due diligence, and the disclosure obligations that apply in regulated work.

AI for Managers & Executives

8 hours · 2 sessions

Selecting use cases with real payback, budgeting realistically, staffing, and setting measurable expectations instead of pilots that never end.

Built for your industry

Generic AI training does not survive contact with regulated work. Each core track is delivered with industry modules using your document types, your terminology, and the constraints your teams actually work under.

Real Estate

Lease abstraction and clause comparison, comparable analysis, listing and marketing copy, tenant and owner correspondence, and maintenance triage.

Covered in class: Fair housing exposure in AI-assisted advertising, tenant screening, and applicant communication.

Hotels & Hospitality

Demand forecasting inputs, review and survey analysis at scale, guest correspondence, group and event RFP responses, and shift scheduling support.

Covered in class: Guest PII handling and payment data boundaries when using third-party AI tools.

Insurance

Submission intake and triage, claim file summarization, policy and endorsement comparison, loss-run analysis, and underwriting research support.

Covered in class: NAIC model-bulletin expectations on AI governance, plus unfair-discrimination testing and documentation.

Banking & Financial Services

KYC and AML alert triage support, credit memo drafting, policy and procedure lookup, client correspondence, and internal knowledge search.

Covered in class: Model risk management expectations, fair lending, adverse-action explainability, and customer data handling under GLBA.

The paperwork is part of the service

Claims fail on documentation more often than on eligibility. For every cohort we hand you attendance rosters per session, dated agendas with start and end times, instructor name and credentials, per-attendee completion certificates, and itemised invoices that separate training fees from anything non-reimbursable.

01

Scope & eligibility

We map roles to tracks and size the cohorts. You confirm which employees are Illinois-based and full-time.

02

Apply BEFORE training

Pre-approval must be in place before the first session. Training already delivered generally cannot be claimed.

03

Deliver

Dated, timed cohort sessions with attendance captured for every class and a named instructor of record.

04

Document & claim

We hand over rosters, agendas, hours, instructor details, completion certificates, and itemized invoices for your submission.

Other funding worth checking

WIOA Incumbent Worker Training

Employers upgrading skills of existing workers, via your Local Workforce Innovation Area

Federal workforce funding administered locally. Cost-share requirements commonly vary with employer size. Applied for through your regional workforce board rather than the state directly.

Apprenticeship Education Expense Tax Credit

Illinois taxpayers employing apprentices in a USDOL-registered program

A credit of up to $3,500 per apprentice against Illinois income tax, with up to $1,500 more available where conditions are met. Capped at $5 million statewide per calendar year, first-come first-served.

Apprenticeship Illinois

Employers building registered apprenticeship or pre-apprenticeship pathways

Support and expansion grants for standing up apprenticeship programs. Relevant if you want AI skills embedded in a longer-term pipeline rather than a one-off cohort.

REV, EDGE & MICRO agreements

Companies with an active state incentive agreement

Direct DCEO ETIP awards are tied to an active Tier II REV, EDGE or MICRO agreement and run far larger than the intermediary route. Worth checking if you already hold one.

Questions employers ask

Does AI training actually qualify?

ETIP lists training in response to new or changing technologies among its eligible categories, and Illinois has named artificial intelligence a priority sector. Eligibility is always determined by the administering body for your specific application, not by us.

What does the 50% actually cover?

Reimbursement applies to approved training costs such as external training fees, internal trainer wages at actual hourly rate, and instructional materials. It does not cover trainee wages, travel, equipment, or consulting fees.

Can we claim training we already ran?

Generally no. Pre-approval is required before training starts, which is the single most common reason employers miss out. Talk to us before scheduling.

How many people do we need?

Courses require a minimum of two trainees, and sessions must be structured with set dates and times. One-on-one coaching typically needs advance approval and is treated differently.

Which employees are eligible?

Illinois-based, full-time employees. Employers must have a physical location in Illinois. Government units, public schools and municipalities are not eligible employers.

Is general AI awareness training eligible?

Awareness-only sessions are typically excluded. This is exactly why our courses are built as skills-based classes with defined hours, exercises, and completion certificates rather than briefings.
